Now for the hard truth... Watch the trailer. Did you shake your head and wonder just what was up with the goofy animated effects? Did you wonder just what the heck was Billy Zane doing? Did any of that you make you think "I got buy beer and invite some friends over!"? Did you get a kick out of Troll 2? Well, THIS FILM IS FOR YOU!!

If there were any sets left standing, after Zane finished chewing his way through this thing, it was a miracle! Starring, by the way, is a bit of an overstatement. Had he "starred" this might have been a little easier to watch.

The best, well...by "best" I mean kind of enjoyable, performance in Journey to Promethea is indeed Zane's drunken, oversexed, mad with power, devil may care, evil King. Everything else is a nice try and had any one scene been in it's own movie then maybe, maybe... No... maybe not. Never mind.

If you have seen ANY fantasy, sword & sorcery flick in your lifetime, one of it's plots was touched on in this film. Unassuming farm boy destined for greatness? CHECK! Former warrior turned eccentric hermit with wise, sage like advice and able to teach said farm boy to fight? CHECK! Strange mysterious elf like creature guide? CHECK! Prophecy of a warrior and his mystical sword? CHECK! Beautiful Princess with equally beautiful amazonian like guards? CHECK! Scenes that lead you to believe that there is going to be some beautiful amazonian like nudity only to be disappointed? CHECK! Dirt finds every face of citizens of "Whatever-land" but their clothes look as though washed in Cheer®? CHECK!
You get the idea.

So.. if you like cheese, if you like to get together with your mates and kick a few pints back while watching a bad flick, then I can't recommend this one enough! ENJOY!
