I watched the premier last night, a little late thanks to a non-cooperative DVR but anyway...
Initial impressions are VERY positive! Really liked it. The plot and the basis of the series is pretty standard now, but since this was filmed several years ago I'm guessing it was one of the ones that started the trend rather than copied it.
The idea is that there is an off-shoot of humans called Faes, (Abnormals in
Sanctuary terms) These are the basic, vampires, werewolves, and all those things that lurk in dark alleys that are scary.
Our heroine is Bo, who learns that she is a Fae. A succubus to be exact, and by the end of the episode she is firmly placed in the middle between two groups of Faes, the obligatory light side and dark side. She sides with humans.
Like I said, nothing that sounds terribly original nowadays, but what saves this one is some very snappy dialog and some pretty decent special effects. It also doesn't hurt that the cast is pretty damn hot!
