NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products and QMx Interactive are bringing the latest “Warehouse 13” (from Syfy) technology to iPhone users with the “Warehouse 13” Farnswoth Video Communicator App. Fans of the hit cable series can now keep in touch with friends, family and other agents with the new app, which is officially licensed through NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group.
Users will be able to exchange video and audio messages and create share their own missions - all in the signature interface of the steampunk communications device from the popular Syfy series.
“The mystery and drama of 'Warehouse 13’ has really resonated with viewers and we think that this iPhone app is the perfect way for fans to broaden their experience with the show,” said Chris Lucero, Director of Global Licensing, NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group.
"QMx Interactive was founded on the principle that entertainment tie-in apps should offer users more than a mediocre app with the logo of their favorite shows or movies on top," said Andy Gore, CEO of Quantum Mechanix, Inc. "With the Farnsworth app, we've tried to build a genuinely powerful messaging platform that just happens to come with an awesome 'Warehouse 13' coating."
With just a quick download from the iTunes App Store, users can send and receive video or audio-only messages over any Internet connection, communicating securely with other “agents” who are also using the application. There are even video messages from junior "Warehouse" Agent Claudia Donovan and lead Agent Artie Nielsen, who offer tips directly from the Warehouse (with more to come). The app's lightning-fast message exchange is made possible by the QMxchange mobile messaging platform, which also allows users to install the Farnsworth Video Communicator on multiple devices and sync them all together. The app is compatible with most iDevices, including the iPhone GS and up, iPad/iPad 2 and the iPod G4.
