It is only just the beginning of Aug, you've been making excellent progress so far, do you have something coming up (besides winter)???

I can't even think about winter right now, I've got so much to do yet this year and it's so freakin' hot here, I swear I'm going to melt...

Very true, Bull.
The bugger for me is shipping times.
Trying to get items cross border are a week.
I could get all local, but I'd sooner b*tch about the delays and pay 400 for an item that costs 1200 here.\ :p

So, I am going to concentrate on getting the rolling chassis before winter(I have the feeling it's gonna hit beginning to mid October)
Then, order up a few parts over winter , while I work on something for Scorp. ;) ;) .
Then get the chassis running by next May.
However, if winter holds off, I may have a running rolling chassis before winter.
Regards,
NITE

Married men know you cannot do this, unless the wife's a gearhead, too.

Well, got the rocker kit and the main rebuild kit
Image
Pistons and camshaft are missing in that pic because they're in my pickup, along with the block, headed to the machine shop tomorrow to get the cam bearings and wrist pins installed.

Would have had a rebuilt head to show today, but the damn machine shop ordered the wrong valve spring keepers. ](*,)

Oh well.

It's definitely going ahead BULL.
I'm into the "minor glitch" problems.
Otherwise known as "parts suppliers send the wrong stuff"
But only the local ones.
:p

Presenting a rebuilt 1981 American Motors (also previously known as Nash and Hudson) 258 head.

Hopefully, tomorrow I shall present a fully assembled engine.

If you aren't already doing so, and if it's an option on this motor, get a oil pump drive shaft adapter to pre-oil the engine prior to the first start up (available at NAPA and other fine automotive parts suppliers...).

Heya, BULL
Already on it.
However, this engine will not be started this year.
She's being lubed and prepped for storage.
But I can hardley wait for the time I do turn it over.
I cannot say I got her completed, but a photo for you to enjoy.

Well, water pump and t-stat housing are on.
But the big pain is finally done.
A Borg-Warner T5 to replace the SR-4.

I must say on a sad note, that the machine shop that did the head and block milling, are closeing their doors.
The reason is they cannot get any skilled machinists.
However, they are keeping the parts section open.
But it's too bad.
Northland Machine has been around for years.
on the upside, I may get a lathe and a plasma cutter on the cheap.

NITE
