Among other things, IE6 wont display the site correctly and it has other problems as well.

I would advise upgrading to IE7 or Firefox. IE7 is much more secure than IE6 and handles cookies better.

Tried both, didn't like either of them.

All I can say is that my IE6 handles every other site and forums (Including a couple of PhpBB sites identical to this one) that I visit just fine. It is only this one that seems to be a problem child.

Does it display the X-treme skin ok? When I look at this site in IE6, it dosent display it correctly for me.

aaaaa enough with the log in problems. It won't let me sign in on the front page and just deleted cookie and re-logged on. It was fine just a few days ago.

The front page log in is gone for now.

Also, be sure you are not using an old bookmark to get here.

Sorry guys, I am still working on it, but it seems no matter what I do someone is having a problem getting logged on.

Just when it seems I have it nailed down, something else pops up.

I'm using Prosilver (which I like) at the moment, but when I used the X-Treme it loaded a lot slower and had a kind of 'hang fire' just at the end on each page before completing fully.

OK, the X-Treme skin and IE6 dont like each other from what I can tell.

How is the log in and staying logged in going?

Waylander, I have to agree with Scorp. IE6 is rather outdated at the moment, and I'm not even sure off the top of my head how much longer MS is going to support it. IE8 is going to be released sometime in the next year or sooner if I recall correctly.

Everything works spiffy in Firefox.

I used to use Explorer. Gave it up after v5. Switched to Netscape and fell in love with the tabbed browsing. Used Safari some but in the end settled on Firefox as my browser of choice. Seems to be friendly with websites like Explorer but has all the neat-o features, such as tabs, like Netscape. (Which makes sense since it is Mozilla)

And I thought I was the only freak around these parts to use Netscape ('have been since 4.x).

I just recently switched to Firefox due to Netscape "going away..." :?

Seamonkey is about the closest thing to Netscape/Mozilla Suite anymore, if it is still in development. I flit around, tried them all, and John will tell you how much I used to hate Firefox back when it first came out 8). But as it matured, it grew on me, and it is pretty much all I use now. Opera has some good features, but no matter what, always a handful of sites which just don't work with it.

Sorry, I'm a Luddite!

I just hate that 'tabbed' stuff that everyone raves about. I'll try IE8 when it comes out, and eventually I'll change over, but to paraphrase a recently deceased person, they'll have to prise IE6 'From my cold, dead, hands!'

:smt046

Oh, and to answer Scorp's question, so far so good tonight anyway, but I'm doing some of this [-o< just to be safe!

:p You don't HAVE to use tabs with either IE or Firefox, easy enough to disable.

I'll concede that 7.0 is likely significantly better than previous attempts, but the hell that we all remember from 5.0 and earlier will stick with me for a VERY long time...
