Not surprisingly IMHO, The Walking Dead has been named as Sunday's top-rated cable drama for adults aged between 18 and 49.

The final episode of the first half of the AMC show's second season attracted 6.6 million viewers with its first showing at the weekend. It also scored a 4.5 adults 18-49 demographic rating.

'Pretty Much Dead Already' proved more popular than the final episode of the first season, which was watched by just over 6 million. The mid-season finale was also viewed by a bigger audience than any other episode in the series, aside from the opener.

Some awesome numbers and worth every one of them. I've been consistently thrilled with this series and 'm happy to see that I am not alone.

Enough with the qualifiers. IMO, this is the best drama on TV right now, full-stop.

And it's back! Good opener...be interesting to see how the car crash plays out and who'd have thought Rick was a Stone Killer?

To be honest, I thought that over all this episode was a bit weak. But it is coming off the heels of an absolutely STUNNING final scene from a very tense episode.

I have me reservations about the car wreck. Maybe a little too much?

And yeah, Rick... WOW! Did not see him pulling a Han Solo there.

I was hoping the Walker would eat her. She's the most annoying character of them all. Glen had a 'come to Jesus' moment in the bar that I think is going to play out in the future. He's finding out shooting real people isn't like capping the dead ones. It will be interesting if this revelation causes him to sack up or wimp out next time. Shane is getting nuttier by the episode, and next week should be interesting after Lori's manipulation of Rick at the end there. Perhaps he and Andrea will leave and form their own group? Herschel seems to have become more aware of the reality of the whole situation, judging by his behavior in town. Rick doesn't seem to know whether he's Wyatt Earp (killing the two Philly boys last week), or a social worker (saving the kid who was trying to kill them this week). He needs to make up his mind.

I'm wondering if T-Dogg is about to become Walker lunchmeat since his part seems to have dwindled to almost nothing this season. Dale, Daryl, and Sophia's mom need to buck up too, or they are going to become surplus mouths pretty quick. I'm still waiting for Merle (Daryl's brother) to pop up, maybe he is involved with the Philly boys group?

Looking forward to the next couple of episodes.

Everybody is becoming a survivor in his or her own way. Hardening around the edges at least. For some, the hardening goes a lot deeper. I think this is how Lori has always gotten by. She manipulates people to her advantage. It not obvious and sometimes people actually genuinely like her (Shane sure does). Maybe she doesn't realize she's doing it sometimes but it's what works for her.

This past weekends episode was little better. Anyone that was feeling it was getting walker-lite should be a bit more pleased at least.
I'm glad that we didn't go down the path that Lori tried to get Rick to follow last week. Not saying we wont get there at some point, but just not yet.

Did anyone miss the zombie cow or was it just dying, cause I see a new threat if animals could come back from the dead. You'll have to worry about all sorts of animals in packs attacking you. And who knew the dead can smell blood or is it only the dead with noses??

Going back when Rick and Shane were looking at the two dead cops, I missed the conversation but did they say scratches kill them?

Well.. Some of us have a theory... (BTW, the cow was just hurt from being eaten by the walker I think)

but the theory is, and may have been the information the doctor at the CDC whispered to Rick, is that the virus is now airborne! No one is safe and some if not all of our heroes are carriers.

Wasn't too sure about this last episode, but boy did it end with bang! (No pun intended)

One of the theories I see :
Everyone who did not become a zombie from the initial wave of infections is a host carrier with some sort of natural/manufactured resistance to the disease. The only reason Jenner wanted to give them all blood tests is to confirm his suspicions of this. The reason that he tried to get everyone to die inside the CDC building is that Jenner's other suspicion is that their resistance to the disease may not last forever, and a second wave of infections may turn all or some of them at a later date. Jenner's cure to the zombie disease is ultimately human extinction, as he stated.

It would be a strange twist if the baby might be the cure.

what I believe:
Everyone's infected, you die you become a Walker, even if you weren't bitten or scratched. I think the writers gave us a clue last episode when the two dead security guards didn't have scratches or bite marks on them. Shane pointed this out, and Rick was VERY quick to correct him, he didn't even consider what Shane said as an option. Almost as if he already knew it was a possibility and he didn't want him to know

That is what tipped it off for me as well..

What we should be asking is what caused the dead to rise, and do you think the show will reveal this or hint at a possible cause? From what I read some people say it's a ufo's fault which I can't buy or some chemical weapon/ virus attack but it had to be released at the same time throughout the world. I guessing the world since we know that France was hit but what virus can reanimate the dead. My belief is that it's judgment day.

I also started to think about the world around them. I wondered how many people were left to die in prisons especially in the super-max type prisons or they could be refuge places. I think the U.S. president is also alive and some sort of government still exists in a pocket area. We have several U.S. bases around the world, not all of them could have fallen and all the battleships, subs and aircraft carriers that hold 2000+ servicemen that are still out there. I bet a cure will come from one of the research bases in Antarctica and don't forget all the Carnival cruise ships still afloat....I'm probably looking way to into this show.

That is a good question, about the rest of the world and the Governments. I wonder if we will ever investigate or get any hints as to whether any still exists. I agree that it would seem pretty unlikely that world leaders would not have been scurried away somewhere.

Depending on how long they carry the series I may like it to be sort of just left alone. I kind of like that this world is outside of reality and I don't mind suspending my disbelief so far as to imagine that the entire world is pretty much crap. I can't honestly say I even care to find out what started it all. It happened and then this happened and there we are. It's just one of those things.

(It'll be my luck though, zombie-apocalypse comes and I'd be stuck on a cruise ship with KathyLee Gifford. Think I'd jump over board. :| )

Well damn... Lot's of "STUFF" going down!

Guess it is confirmed, the virus is airborne! Randy and Shane both went zombified without a bite.

Pretty powerful episode, but if I'm going to be honest I have some critical problems with it. One, Shane & Rick walk for what seemed like hours and miles and they end up less than a mile from the house? Close enough for Carl to show up?? Shanes big plan could have been thrown off by someone who happened to look out the window at the right time?

Carl is a dead shot. Interesting. Shame he didn't prove himself at some location that didn't have a bunch of walkers JUST on the other side of the tree line.

Me thinks the writers are trying maybe just a bit too hard.
