Starting Wednesday and over the course of September, fifty-two new number one issues will hit shelves.

“It’s always nerve-racking, even when you have one new book coming out. Now everybody has all their first issues coming out in one month,” Geoff Johns tells USA Today. “It’s like a big jam session between all these great creators.”

So far, fan interest in the reboot has been solid. USA Today reports the rebooted issue of Justice League has pre-orders of 200,000 copies, making it the most successful comic of 2011. Six other titles have pre-orders of 100,000 or more, including Action Comics and Detective Comics.

“The big thing is the number of people who are saying they’re gonna buy all 52. It’s not something we were shooting for, but boy, do we love it,” says DC co-publisher Dan DiDio.

I really wish YouTube had a segment of a Star Trek Voyager 'the making' type interview, where they were talking about Seven of Nine and wanting to avoid coming up with an outfit for her that detracts from taking her character seriously. If that clip was on-line, I would be posting it every time I encounter quotes made of 100% BS (well, actually it's not 100% BS because of the "do we love it" comment on the end, but anyway).

I think I've seen some of the cover art for these reboots on the DC comics website... oh dear.

I will probably buy a Batman #1 at least and maybe one or two others. Should there be any value to them at all in the future, better safe than sorry. (Though with my luck this will prove to be a complete bomb of event and they drop in value  )
