Just a note that there will be a sci-fi convention in Cincinnati in March: See http://www.millennicon.org/

It looks pretty small, but then Cinti is not exactly a hub of geekdom. It's more like a sports bar with a river running through it.

I stumbled on this con while updating the convention calendar on amazingscifi.com. If you know of any good conventions this year, now would be a good time to shout out.

Hmmm.. looks to be more along the written sci-fi than the visual and pretty small to be sure. But still,.. :-k

BTW, it isn't really clear on the their website (which, in the tradition of all small sci-fi cons, is appallingly bad), but a daily admission is 15 bucks, except on Saturday, when it is 25 bucks. Kids under 12 are free. Kinda steep for what appears to be a small con, but I guess it is intended as a fundraiser for literacy. (Why they don't offer discounts for donating books is beyond me) For all I know, it could be bigger than a family barbecue, but the website doesn't bother to list more than a guest or two and four vendors. Study this website closely for a lesson in how NOT to promote your convention. Sigh.
