I went into Battleship not expecting much plot but a lot of special effects. What I got was more plot than I expected and a very entertaining movie.

Thankfully the trailers didn't give away the entire movie so there were some unexpected plot points. The trailers also made it look like Transformers. Well, it's nothing like Transformers, which I was glad of.

There were some very nice surprises that set it apart from almost every other alien invasion movie. First of all, New York City isn't in it at all! Yeah, they left New York alone in this one. The aliens are humanoid instead of multi-limbed monsters. And the invasion isn't world wide.

The elements from the Battleship game are worked in quite well. And even though I figured out what was going to save the day it didn't take away from the coolness of it when it happened.

I recommend the movie. When going to see it, just sit back and enjoy the ride it takes you on. Don't think too much during it.

You know as I saw more and more previews for this I had a feeling that this might be just a good sci-fi action flick. Nothing deep, nothing new, but just mindless and fun.
