RKO Pictures and Twisted Pictures have formed a new venture to remake four genre films from RKO's library.
The new company will produce THE BODY SNATCHER, I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE, and BEDLAM. The fourth title has not been chosen yet.
SNATCHERS (1945), which starred Boris Karloff, was based on Robert Louis Stevenson's story about a grave robber who supplied bodies to scientists for research.
ZOMBIE (1943) centered on a young American nurse who travels to Haiti to take care of of the catatonic matriarch of a troubled family. When the nurse takes the woman to a voodoo ceremony for healing, local legends come true. The film starred Francis Dee.
And BEDLAM (1945) was set in any 18th century London asylum and revolved around a woman, who was wrongfully committed, who tries to stop the evil doings of the chief of the aslyum and ultimatley endangers herself. Boris Karloff, Jason Robards Sr. and Anna Lee starred.
Mark Burg, Oren Koules, Carl Mazzocone and Ted Hartley will produce. No writers or directors have been set for the projects.
