Excelsior; Klingon captains Kor, Koloth, and Kang; and a hotheaded young Federation diplomat named Curzon Dax. Tempered in the flames of their shared adversity, a captaincy is forged, a Blood Oath is sworn . . . and a hunt begins that will stretch from one generation to the next.

Scorps Take: I used to read a lot of Trek novels, but I got worn out on them and havent picked one up in a long time. However, the Excelsior novel sounds interesting enough that I think I will want to check that one out.

Good Grief!

Looks like a little something for the fans of any generation.

(BTW, what are 'mass', 'trade' and 'omnibus'? Book formats or distribution methods or...?)

Omnibus (media), a book, video, or movie collecting two or more previous works by the same author, director, theme, or other unifying criterion.

A Trade Paperback, sometimes referred to as a trade paper edition, is a paperback book that is usually the same size as the hardcover edition. That is, the text pages are identical to the text pages in the hardcover edition, and the only difference is the binding and that the quality of the paper is usually higher than that of a mass market paperback.

Trade paperbacks are typically priced less than hardcover books and higher than mass market paperbacks. Virtually all "Advance Reader's Copies" are issued in trade paperback format.

A Mass Market Paperback, is a small, usually non-illustrated, and inexpensive bookbinding format. They are commonly released after the hardback edition, and often sold in non-traditional bookselling locations such as airports and supermarkets, as well as in traditional bookstores. Many paperbacks, especially in the area of genre fiction, are first editions in paperback and never receive a hardcover printing.

An e-book (for electronic book: also eBook, ebook) is the digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book. Such documents are either read on personal computers, or on dedicated hardware devices known as e-book devices or e-book readers.

Hope that clears it up for ya Crow

I used to read ST novels all the time. One a week easily. I too got burned out. Mainly because I was tired of hack authors skimming through the writers guide and then slapping a book together on the plane to the publisher. Tons of misinformation and a complete lack of knowledge of how any of the technology worked. Hated that. The holodeck always took a beating in those. Clothes would appear and disappear as you went through the doors, along with any wounds you might of acquired within the illusion. The hair on my neck bristled as I read through those books and they just turned me off.
