Now that the new board is up and running and most of the minor tweaks are now done.

I am looking for feefback on things you as the User would like to see, do know that I will be working on something that will search for Unread Posts better than what we currently have. Also, I am looking into doing the Spell as you type feature we had on the old boards.

We have 3 Skins and I may bring that down to 2 depending on how hard I think its going to be to Update/Mod 3 seperate skins.

So please feel free to add your 2 cents in this thread on what we can do to improve the boards or add new features.

Is there anyone else missing the Shoutbox? I liked it.

There is a shoutbox in the works, but the code for it is not finalized. I have no time frame on it right now.

I'd like to keep the 'prosilver' skin please.

The Prosilver skin is here to stay, I may dump the Glacier skin and keep the X-treme style and Prosilver.

I think the X-Treme looks awesome on a bright LCD, it almost glows. On a CRT, its too dark and doesn't look that great.

The others are ok, ultimately, I still may only sport 2 skins.

So besides tweaking the site and squashing bugs, I have 3 other features that I am working on.

First, View Unread Posts, the New Posts Button dosent really do what its suppose to, so I am working on changing that so that you get a list of posts since your last visit.

Second, A Shout box, but this is still being built and wont launch for some time.

Third, Converting the Arcade over to phpbb 3.0. This is a major undertaking and will be months out. Once its done, the old arcade and boards will be deleted.

So again, let me know if there is some feature you want and I can see if its possible.

I applaud the spam filtering (see? ==> ). I think I was spending at about a half hour a day deleting a dozen or more posts.

Ironically, there was rarely anything "new" on the p*rn front. The same posts over and over again (yawn), likely from the same spammers/bots working from different zombie machines.

One thing that might be cool would be private file archives. If your host is anything like the one (Dreamhost) I had for 3dgpu , we had 10800 GB of disk space and were using less than 1 GB for the entire site, including the forums. This is data that they back up on a regular basis and is relatively secure...

Matt tried it once back in the day, but he set it up as a FTP deal, not very user friendly...

Maybe something to set up for a sponsor level member, maybe set aside 25-50% of the excess disk space and split it among the sponsorship level members?

This would allow users to have "off site" file archives. Examples of what I would personally upload would be my Quicken and Quickbook data sets, maybe some pics and things that I would hate to lose.

I don't know, it was just a thought...

One thing I miss from other boards like 3dgpu, is when you select something you want to make into a link and box pops up where you can paste the url, same thing with images, etc. Not a big deal, but just a convenience feature. As to the skins, my favorite is still Glacier. I've been using Xtreme the last day or so, but hard to see for my old eyes.
