As many of you know as your moving into LCD TV's, Blu-Ray players and such, HDMI cables are the best way to hook up your equipment.

But as many have experianced in pretty much all stores, they are charging almost criminal prices for HDMI cables.

Its insane what many places want for a 6' HDMI cable, sometimes $25 or more easily.

There is an alternative, behold....Your HDMI Salavation!!

Yeah, thats a 6' HDMI cable for $3.04 =D>

Whats that?? You need male to male or female to female HDMI cables? No Problem!!!

You want choice of colors? Heck, thats easy!!

Sorry to sound like a commercial, but I cant believe what every freaking electronics store out there is charging for a simple F***ing cable.

This site rocks when it comes to prices, check them out.

I freaking adore Monoprice. Their cables are the stuff that REAL home theater/PC geeks use. Their stuff tends to match or outclass Monster's cables at 1/10th (or less) the price. I think I picked up a 25' optical cable from there for about $12. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When you’re transmitting a digital signal, it either works, or it does not. “High speed 99.9% oxygen free copper” and all the other BS is just hype to lure people in to spending more than they need to. It’s an easy add on to the sale of a Blu-Ray player or HDTV, and the mark-up makes a stores % rate look good. Too bad so much of the buying public is ignorant to these truths. Whenever I’m in Best Buy, if I see anyone looking at their HDMI choices, I tell them of several places online that are much “Better” buys. ;)

This little bit of snake oil has become somewhat infamous among geeks. The Denon ultra premium Ethernet cable. It's an honest to god really product. http://usa.denon.com/us/Product/Pages/P ... 63642a6206

That's right. A specially crafted ethernet cable designed for just "digital audio reproduction" at the bargin cost of $499! And you gotta love how "signal directional markings are provided for optimum signal transfer" because of course the data bits can read the instructions on the cable.... #-o

Comes with free 24/7 support assistance and methinks if you buy this then you probably need it.

Wow...that's just wrong. Even if it's shielded, twisted pair Gigabit with gold connectors, it's only worth about 1% of that.

What's really funny is the Amazon page for that Denon cable:

http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AKDL1-Dedic ... 878&sr=8-1

Read the reviews. I got a good laugh out of this page!

My God this is brilliant!... only surpassed by all the others! LOL

Quote:
Transmission of music data at rates faster than the speed of light seemed convenient, until I realized I was hearing the music before I actually wanted to play it. Apparently Denon forgot how accustomed most of us are to unidirectional time and the general laws of physics. I tried to get used to this effect but hearing songs play before I even realized I was in the mood for them just really screwed up my preconceptions of choice and free will. I'm still having a major existential hangover.

Would not purchase again.
