I'm just watching The Matrix on DVD on a 1080p screen and the screen artefacts are glaringly obvious. I looked up The Blu-ray version on dvdbeaver.com, and tint issues come in to place again, though I wonder whether many of these are intended by whoever did the remastering:
http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompar ... atrix_.htmCheck out the Morpheus - Smith fight shot. Initially I thought it was a touch of the later Star Trek series where every scene with the Borg had to include a green light background, and in the Matrix's case I wondered whether all the scenes while 'in the matrix' were done with a slight tint to give a suggestion of not being real, but then if you look at the first comparison images of Neo taking the pill, the Blu-ray version doesn't look like that.
Overall the Blu-ray version looks approximately how I would expect a modern DVD movie to look, so I think I'll put it on my "please buy me this as a present" list when people ask. I just hope that the single Blu-ray is of the same quality as the 'blu-ray ultimate collection', which includes two movies which I could have sworn didn't exist

- edit - examining one of the blu-ray shots in detail, it looks like there probably is still a bit of noise. Maybe a rental job first?
