According to Blastr, Kelley is close to casting South African supermodel Tanit Phoenix in the role in the upcoming series. Phoenix’s list of acting credits includes the direct-to-home theater release of “Lost Boys: The Thirst” and she’ll be part of the upcoming cable series “Femme Fatales.”

However, that doesn’t mean that Phoenix has the role yet.

Blastr reports that Eliza Dushku could also be on the short list for the role.

I would be on board for Tanit. She has a very Linda Carter-esque quality about her. Despite actually liking her, I would be pretty disappointed if they gave it to Dushku.

It appears that it may not be the sure thing it was reported as.

Speaking to Zap2It, Kelley said that while he’s developing ideas for the show, he’s not officially doing it yet.

There’s no real deal in place yet, but yeah, my intent is to take a stab at it. I’ve been working on it between scripts for [his new series] Harry’s Law. It’s a very, very different genre for me, a very tricky beast. I won’t know whether I’ve cracked it or not until I’ve finished it, but it’s going,” he says.

“At the beginning, there was a little bit of that, but we quickly made it known that was premature. I haven’t necessarily committed to doing it yet. I’m at the point where I’m trying to figure out if I can make the franchise work for me.”

Kelley goes on to say that he if doesn’t feel good about the project, he will make sure executive at Warner Brothers know.

“If I feel I can make the characters my own and it’s a world rich enough for me to revisit, that’s a good sign to me that it’s a series worth doing,” he says.

If she is a model, then she is too skinny for the role.

Well, here is a surprise to no one....

The television reboot of Wonder Woman has been put on hold according to Deadline.

The high-profile new version of the series, helmed by TV veteran David E. Kelly, has been put on hold when a deal with a broadcast network could not be completed. Sources say the potential series had a problem of “unfortunate timing.”

Kelley intended to do a contemporary take on the popular DC Comics heroine for Warner Bros. TV.

Sources say that while the CW would have been a good fit for the show, the network couldn’t afford the price tag associated with the show. Representatives showed Kelly’s pilot script to Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC. Fox turned the script down, but it was apparently never thought to be a good fit for the network anyway, and was only shown as a courtesy.

I'm surprised FOX gave up an opportunity to cancel another show. :-k

By the time we see a Wonder Woman reboot on tv, a Manimal reboot would already be in season 2.

Reports of the demise of the “Wonder Woman” reboot appear to have been a bit premature.

That’s according to veteran TV producer David E. Kelley, who is involved with the potential reboot. Kelley says that he plans to bring the series back to NBC execs again and see what happens. Kelley said a corporate restructuring at NBC may have led that network to initially pass and he wants the new execs to give the series a chance.

Kelley thinks NBC would be a great home for his vision of Wonder Woman under incoming programming chief Robert Greenblatt.

Kelley said, “I like to think of it as a smart script, and I know he responds to smart material,” and that his vision of Wonder Woman should be explored as a “real complex woman and not just a superhero.”

If NBC should pass again, Kelley still thinks the show could find a home on cable.

The saga continues!

According to Deadline Hollywood Wonder Woman will be coming to NBC. After much hype, then delay, rumors of cancellation and now pick-up. NBC entertainment president Bob Greenblatt surprised everyone on Friday by giving the nod to the David E. Kelley reboot.

Well the wait is over...Adrianne Palicki, best known for her work as Tyra on NBC and Direct TV’s “Friday Night Lights” has been cast in the role.

She can also be seen in the upcoming reboot of “Red Dawn.”

The overall response to the comical reveal pic of Palicki in costume seemed like a nail in the coffin to me. Clearly this chick needs to fire her agent for trying to suffocate her in a DC Comics TV show vault. She's already played a villain in the never-aired Aquaman pilot, and she was the titular red herring in Smallville's "Kara" episode, playing somebody who'd eventually get retconned out of existence when Kal-el's real Kryptonian cousin eventually showed up in the series. From reviews I've read of the WW pilot's script, this is gonna turn out to be a turd that quickly gets flushed.
