According to Deadline, Fox is developing a series based on DC’s The Spectre.

The Spectre is a dead police officer resurrected and possessed by the spirit of God’s vengeance and driven to punish wrongdoers.

The character was invented by Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily in 1940.

Brandon Camp (John Doe) will write and executive produce the adaptation alongside producer Bill Gerber (Gran Torino).

Considering how poorly The Cape did on NBC I'm surprised anyone would try another caped vigilante series, much less FOX. Not sure what they think they can do better to make this one successful. (Especially since I thought The Cape was pretty cool)

This is all pretty early news and "developing" can also easily turn into a "not producing" pretty quickly. Time will tell.
