I've found myself recently actually contemplating trimming the amount of shows I currently record. So far most have survived the cut, thanks to cancellations or in the case of Falling Skies, just a lack-luster enough season to make me all too easily delete it from the list.

But where one goes down, two seem to spring up! Now with the movie season kicking off with a strong start I find that I'm going to have to be very choosey on what I spend my theater dollars on.

So my question to you... Is there such a thing as too much genre TV and movies? Anyone else finding themselves in the same predicament?

There indeed does seem to be a lot of genre shows out there. I don't think I watch most of them because I just don't have the time. I just hope that we don't experience a saturation of genre shows that causes the studios to stop making them when ratings start going down. We've seen that happen many times when a certain type of show was big for a while and then that genre went away.

I watch/record the shows I like, and ignore the rest. There are a good number of good shows, but I only record those which are continuing stories.

So you aren't much into the stand alone types... Though I have to admit to being at a loss to name one that doesn't have some ongoing arc anymore.
