There’s so much of this that looks like Alien, I wonder how much (if any) it’s going to be like Alien. I read where it takes place “In the Alien universe” but not necessarily? By the trailer it’s a must see for me. Hope it’s worth the wait when it comes out on BD.

This is supposed to be a kind of prequel and will give us the story of the "jockey" that we see in Alien as well as some back story as to what exactly the xenomorphs are.

I'm all in. The look of the film alone is enough to get me in the seat.

I think I'll hold off for post-release reviews, though this trailer and another trailer-ish video piqued my interest:

Alien is a great movie. Aliens took some of what was good from Alien and made a pretty damn good action movie. Is it intended for Prometheus to be compared to either of these two, or is it going to be just another movie in the set? Is it going to do something new and interesting, or be merely on par with say Alien3?

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that it won't S*** as much as say Alien Resurrection or AvP. I don't really want to see something on par with Alien3 unless I'm bored at some point.

I don't know what you all think, but that's my feeling on the topic.

Yes, I agree absolutely. The previews I’ve seen indicate these people set off in search of some proof that humans maybe came here from elsewhere, but find something unexpected.
