Twisted Pictures and Lions Gate Films have decided to strike while the poker is hot and have announced the theatrical release date of the latest in the SAW franchise. SAW III is set to buzz into theaters on October 27 and will be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW II),with story yet again by Leigh Whannell and James Wan and screenplay by Whannell.The SAW franchise has already generated nearly 250 million dollars at the worldwide box office.

Do you need to see Saw before seeing Saw 2or 3? Or can you see Saw3, then see Saw1 or 2?
A friend saw Saw2 and said to see Saw1.

Weird...I have this incredible urge to go to a playground...

Just for the sake of it, if you are truly asking the question you can view 'Saw II' and it will stand on it's own. If you are a franchise purist, then by all means rent the first one and then do the second.
