I had a great time at the B Movie Celebration! I'll be posting several reviews in the coming days but I wanted to give you all a quick description of what went on.
Night one was the premier of the film
GILA!, a remake of the 1959 Ray Kellogg film
The Giant Gila Monster. One of the best homage films I've seen. A fun story, great cast, and all around fun! Several of the stars were on hand to see the film themselves as well as the director Jim Wynorski and the producer (and founder of the Celebration) Bill Dever.
That was followed by
Return of the Killer Shrews, a sequel to another 1959 Ray Kellogg film,
The Killer Shrews. This brought back James Best as Thorne Sherman and also starred John Schneider. More on that one later.
Day two was one fun film or film short after another. Including a very interesting German film
Tartarus, an very well done 5 minute short film
Squid, than left me wanting MUCH more, a neat flick that took me back to the after school movie adventure type films called
Lisl and the Lorlock, and another great homage film, this one from New Foundland,
The Tentacles Claw. Writer/director Michael Rigler and star/producer Tara Manuel were on hand for that one as well.
Day three... I couldn't stay for day three.

Several more films and short films were scheduled that I would have liked to catch but alas, I had to go home. Next year, next year.
