DKR, not The Dark Knight.

Someone on another forum had a reasonable response, that comic book stories are rife with the protagonist being cast down and having to build themselves back up again, and I think Hollywood is finally learning a lesson or two about sequels, that you can't just throw another villain for the hero to have a bit of difficulty defeating, that something equal or greater than the original origin story of the hero has to occur to make the sequel more worthwhile. I just can't help thinking that it's a bit too similar to DKR and too soon after DKR. Hopefully we won't have a string of sequels across franchises that follow the DKR formula (whether or not you think DKR was good).

I personally think it is time for the superhero genre to take an extended leave of absence from the cinema, just like Star Trek was well beyond its sell-by date.
